At Big B, we believe we all have the power to make things happen, we believe the power to choose to make things happen lies within us. Coaching provides a mechanism to close the gap between where we are now and where we want to be. Coaching is based on the philosophy of facilitated learning, listening attentively, asking powerful questions and drawing out the other person’s thinking. Thus, Coaching facilitates positive change through improved thinking.

Coaching with Big B may focus upon personal or professional issues and is delivered one-to-one, typically over a series of up to 12 sixty to seventy five minute sessions.

Coaching with Big B is results focused, facilitating insight, bringing you to conclusions and actions for yourself and doing so in the most efficient way possible. It is the insights you have along the journey which create the change you desire.

Coaching with Big B is based upon 5 principles:
  • Self-Directed Learning – we learn better when we find our own answers.
  • Solutions Focus – coaching is not about searching for a cause of a problem.
  • Stretch – people work at their best when they are challenged and stretched.
  • Positive Feedback – coaching is about positive, value adding reinforcement, not pointing out what people are doing wrong.
  • Structure – we use a structured approach to produce change.
→  A typical B Coached series is based upon:
  • Up to 12 sessions of 60 – 75 minutes duration
  • A focus upon 3 inspiring goals identified by you.
  • Each goal is underpinned by strategies – small steps to achieve the goal that give shape to the coaching journey:
  • Actions – set by you in each coaching session for you to complete between sessions and used by your coach to hold you accountable to your goals and commitments.
  • Insights and learning often beyond what you imagined or expected.
     
→  Coaching with Big B begins with your 3 strong, shiny primary goals giving you vision and motivation to inspire you to achieve your goals over up to 12 weeks of the coaching series.

  • Exercise my health and safety rep powers effectively – became – be a health and Safety Super Hero.
